Indie flight sim Seven-G, dedicated to F/A-18C, which has been in development for about half a decade now, finally seems to be getting ready to go BETA.
Seven-G will feature F/A-18C with fully clickable cockpit, realistically modeled systems and flight model, including fly-by-wire control system.
According to the little snippet of news on the web site, the beta will feature %50 reduced price, but no manual. However, there will be video tutorials on youtube. Knowing that “soon” can mean any time between now and the heat death of the universe when it comes to flight sim world, I certainly hope this one will indeed turn out to be soon for real.
According to information available on the web site so far, SevenG’s rendition of Charlie Hornet will feature JHMCS, AIM-9X, AIM-9M, AIM-120B, AIM-7F, GBU-12,16 and 24, AGM-88, AGM-65E laser maverick, as well as unguided bombs.
The sim is also slated to feature multiple terrain choices.
This is good news from multiple fronts : a new sim for us cockpit heads, and also a fix for those waiting for a Hornet impatiently. At the very least, it will be some nice training before DCS Charlie Hornet appears, and who knows, maybe even more…
